Hi there! I’m the oldest of the 5 girls. I like to think I recently entered my 30’s, but now that I’m almost 33, it’s time to admit that I’m actually IN my 30’s. I met my husband, Paul, over 14 years ago and we’ve been happily married for almost 11 years. We’ve somehow accumulated four dogs in that time span. My husband and I bought a motorcycle and loved it well for four years before we sold it in an attempt to ‘adult’ a little more. We’re known ’round these parts for our almost 10 year struggle with infertility. It’s been one roller coaster of a ride! We sold our first home in 2016 and moved two houses away from sister #2. I have a little cookie decorating side hobby and I love to travel. I have a reputation for being honest to a fault, an introvert, and now I feel like I’m filling out a dating application so I’m going to quit while I’m ahead.
I guess it goes without saying, but I’m #2. I turn 30 in a couple months and I still think of 30 as being REALLY far away. Two kids don’t make me feel old, but 30…ugh. (No offense, Kate). My husband and I have been together almost 16 years (yes, that is half of my life) and married for 6 of those years. Our journey has taken us to Connecticut, West Virginia and now home to Richmond, VA. We enjoyed our first baby (the boat) for a few years, but also attempted to “adult” a little more and opted to sell the boat and update our backyard. In the past 3 years we’ve had two kids, Nora and Bennett. We’re known ’round these parts for frequently asking for free babysitting services, and often being the “parents” literally and figuratively. Since high school I’ve been called the Mom of the group, a title I take very seriously!
Hola, #3 here. Let’s talk basics: Mid 20s, married to Matt, puppy mom, sometime soccer player, PSU grad, PA resident, welfare caseworker, beer snob, procrastinator extraordinaire (seriously its amazing this blurb made it to the blog!) Now let’s elaborate: You’re here and reading this and wondering what do these 5 girls have to say? Well, a lot I hope. We’re all cut from the same mold, but as life goes, we’ve taken our own paths. So 5 different perspectives, 5 different stories, 5 sisters that will hopefully keep you entertained, make you laugh, learn, look on the bright side, and love this crazy life just a bit more.
Hey, I’m daughter #4. I’m typically told I march to the beat of my own drum, but I like to think I keep things interesting in the family. I’m 22 and surprised everyone this summer when my boyfriend and I eloped. We had an adorable, impromptu park wedding on a Tuesday morning. I’ve worked at a preschool and a childcare place and as much as I love working with little kids, I’m currently taking a break from the full-time scene of being surrounded by people under the age of 3. I like cats, vegan food (though these days its a little more vegetarian), spending money I should save, Netflix, and music. Honestly, when I left college I was very excited to not have to write any more papers, because I get distracted way to easily,(thanks ADD!) so this is going to take a lot of effort on my part. However, for my sisters, and because I think it will be interesting to see where this goes, and lets be honest, I’m not doing much, I’m going to do my best. Who knows, maybe this will help me figure out what to do next with my life? I’m actively pursuing my going back to school options, so who knows what the future holds! (*Disclaimer- The only pictures I have of just myself, which I was told to use, I’m either covered in kids, cats, or on the toilet. I’m sorry.)
Hey y’all! I’m sister #5. I like to say, “save the best for last”, but my sisters might beg to differ on that one. I’m almost 20, which means I’m no longer a teenager! I just started my sophomore year at Longwood University and it’s been fun delving more into my major. My days are filled with going to class and working at the university gym. I spent my summer being the free labor for Brittany and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I’m always down for a great movie or puzzle. Yes, you read that correctly, a puzzle. I’ve never been much of a writer, or for this matter, a blogger and for this to work all of us sisters have to be on board. So, ready or not here I go into the blogging world with my four best friends.
